Our Story
In 1996, Dr. Michael N. Linver started a breast imaging course in Santa Fe. It has run every year since. Thirty editions later, the faculty who teach it and the radiologists who attend it still come back — many of them year after year, to the same city, for the same week in August. That is not a marketing line. It is what happens when a program is built by physicians, for physicians, and kept honest for three decades.
Altus, Inc. was founded in 2015 in Madison, Wisconsin, building online continuing education and leadership-training tools for health care. Working alongside iiCME and physician leaders, we have spent years building CME conferences, content libraries, and professional communities across radiology subspecialties — including the program in Santa Fe. We have also spent fifteen years serving imaging centers across the country with compliance and education tools built for the way those centers actually work.
The Altus Radiology Collective grew out of that work. It is, first, a group of people who came together: course directors, faculty, technologists, and staff who have spent their careers building radiology education and intend to see it continue.
Mammography in Santa Fe is our flagship. Around it we are building a lineup of premier programs — emergency radiology, AI in radiology, and neuro and head & neck imaging — each led by physicians who helped shape the field they teach.
What the collective adds is durability: shared infrastructure, technology, accreditation support, and operations, so a program's future rests on more than one calendar. What it protects is the part that cannot be manufactured — the faculty, the case material, and a room full of people who came back.
We are building a stronger radiology community, and we are building it to last.
Why the Collective
Many physician-led educational programs face the same challenge: succession planning, long-term sustainability, growth, and continuity. The purpose of the Radiology Collective is not to replace existing programs — it’s to create a framework that allows successful programs to keep growing beyond any single individual, while creating opportunity for future faculty and future generations of radiologists.
