The Masters format puts a small room in front of senior authorities in a single subspecialty — working through their own case material, hearing how they actually decide, and having time to ask the follow-up question properly rather than at a microphone queue.
Every member of this course faculty trained through the University of Utah neuroradiology fellowship that Dr. Wiggins directs. They now hold section chief and fellowship director posts of their own — which is what the Collective means when it says faculty leaders recruit the next ones.
Overview
Four days of neuroradiology and head & neck imaging in Santa Fe, led by Course Director Dr. Richard H. Wiggins III with faculty drawn from the University of Utah neuroradiology programme he directs.
NeuroENT covers the territory where neuroradiology and head & neck imaging meet, and where most general radiologists are least comfortable: the temporal bone, the skull base, perineural spread, the post-treatment neck. These are studies with dense anatomy, small structures, and clinical consequences that follow directly from whether a finding was described correctly.
The program runs in Santa Fe alongside Mammography in Santa Fe, which runs August 2–6 — so a single trip can cover both.

Neuroradiologists and head & neck imagers, and general radiologists who read a meaningful volume of neuro and head & neck studies. Also relevant to fellows preparing for independent reporting in this territory, and to CT and MRI technologists responsible for acquiring temporal bone and neck protocols, who attend for ARRT CE credit.

The objectives below are subject to change. Session-level objectives are authored by the presenting faculty and reviewed by the accrediting provider before publication.
On completion of this activity, participants should be able to:
- Apply a reproducible CT and MR search pattern to the temporal bone, and distinguish conductive from sensorineural causes of hearing loss on imaging.
- Recognize the imaging features of congenital, acquired, and recurrent cholesteatoma, and describe the findings the otologic surgeon requires pre-operatively.
- Localize skull base lesions to the anterior, central, or posterior compartment and construct a compartment-appropriate differential diagnosis.
- Identify perineural tumor spread along the trigeminal and facial nerve pathways and explain how that finding alters staging and surgical planning.
- Differentiate inflammatory from neoplastic sinonasal disease and complete the pre-operative sinus CT checklist required before functional endoscopic sinus surgery.
- Use a compartmental approach to the orbit to narrow the differential for proptosis and orbital masses.
- Assign an unknown neck mass to the correct suprahyoid or infrahyoid space and apply current nodal staging criteria, including HPV-related changes.
- Distinguish recurrent tumor from expected post-treatment change in the surgically and radiation-treated neck, and state the role of PET/CT in that assessment.
Program
Four mornings, 5–8 August 2027. Each day starts with teaching at 8:00 am and finishes at 1:00 pm, closing with an all-faculty panel working live unknowns, so the afternoons stay clear. An optional hands-on workstation laboratory runs Days 1–3 afternoons as an add-on to program registration, fee to be confirmed.
The four-day schedule is set by the course director and faculty. It will be published here, with session times and speakers, once confirmed. 17.00–26.00 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™ are anticipated, pending accreditation.

Course Director
One of the Collective's founding physicians, and course director for both NeuroENT Imaging with the Masters and AI in Radiology. Professor of Radiology at the University of Utah, where he directs the neuroradiology fellowship — the programme through which the rest of this faculty trained.
Course Faculty
Neuroradiologist and head & neck imager at Indiana University School of Medicine, where he directs the radiology fellowship programmes and holds the Dean D.T. Maglinte Scholar in Radiology Education title. Completed his neuroradiology fellowship at the University of Utah in 2015 and retains an adjunct faculty appointment there.
Course Faculty
Section Chief of the Division of Neuroradiology at City of Hope. Previously Associate Professor and Director of Head & Neck Imaging at UCLA, and neuroradiology section chief at the University of Kansas. Completed his neuroradiology fellowship at the University of Utah, where he was named Fellow of the Year, and is a past president of the Western Neuroradiology Society.
Course Faculty
Diagnostic neuroradiologist at Indiana University School of Medicine and IU Health, with a subspecialty focus on head & neck and vascular imaging. Diagnostic radiology residency at Indiana University, neuroradiology fellowship at the University of Utah, and an MBA in finance completed during residency.

NeuroENT shares its format with Advanced Musculoskeletal MRI with the Masters in San Diego: a single subspecialty, senior faculty teaching from their own case material, and a room small enough that questions get answered properly. The two sit at opposite ends of the 2027 calendar, in May and August.
Santa Fe & the venue
Four days in Santa Fe, the town that has hosted Collective breast imaging faculty every August since 1996 and now hosts two programs each summer — Mammography in Santa Fe, and this one, both at the same hotel.
La Fonda on the Plaza is the only hotel sitting directly on Santa Fe's historic Plaza, a member of Historic Hotels of America. Rooms run $279/night plus tax. Santa Fe accommodation fills early in August, so booking promptly matters more here than at our other destinations. The group booking link will be shared here once finalized.
Afternoons in San Diego
Sessions conclude at 1:00 pm, and the afternoon is yours. Five sights are close by and can fill the free time without an early start or a late return — the hotel sits directly on Santa Fe's historic Plaza, with the Palace of the Governors and the Cathedral Basilica of St. Francis of Assisi steps from the door, and Canyon Road's galleries, the Georgia O'Keeffe Museum, and the Santa Fe Opera all short trips away. All are optional and carry their own costs, separate from conference registration.

HISTORIC LANDMARK · EASY WALKING
New Mexico's oldest public building, dating to 1610, on the north side of Santa Fe Plaza — steps from La Fonda. Native American artisans sell handmade jewelry and pottery under its portal daily.
Steps from the hotel, no drive required. Admission is $12 for out-of-state visitors ($7 for New Mexico residents); open daily 10 am–5 pm, until 7 pm on First Fridays.
The Palace's museum wing is currently under partial renovation — some historical exhibits are unavailable; worth checking current status closer to the date.

A French Romanesque Revival cathedral, built starting in 1869, a block east of the Plaza — steps from La Fonda.
Steps from the hotel. Entry is free (donations welcome); open Tuesday–Saturday, roughly 9:30 am–4 pm, closed Sundays to visitors outside of Mass.
Hours shift around religious services — worth checking the schedule if visiting outside a Sunday morning.
ART GALLERIES · MODERATE WALKING, SOME UNEVEN SIDEWALKS
A half-mile, tree-lined stretch of 80+ art galleries in a historic adobe neighborhood, once private homes.
Roughly a 10–20 minute walk from the Plaza, or a 5-minute drive. Galleries are free to browse, open daily roughly 10 am–5 pm; hours vary by gallery.
Every Friday evening (5–7 pm), galleries stay open late for a free, informal gallery walk — worth timing a visit around if the schedule allows.
PERFORMANCE VENUE · REQUIRES A DRIVE
An open-air theater seven miles north of the Plaza, running since 1957, with views of the Jemez Mountains from the seats.
About 15 minutes by car; no public transit option. Tickets run roughly $50 and up; parking is free on-site.
Opera season runs July–August only — confirm it overlaps the program dates before including this as a live option, since the season's exact 2027 run isn't something this document or a quick search confirms yet.
Altitude. Santa Fe sits at 7,000 feet — noticeably thinner air if you're coming from sea level. Most people adjust within a day or two; drink more water than usual and go easy on alcohol until you do. Monsoon afternoons. Late July and August bring quick-forming afternoon thunderstorms — sunny mornings, sudden rain by mid-afternoon, gone within the hour. A light rain layer covers it. Strong sun, dry air. Santa Fe gets 300+ sunny days a year and the UV is stronger at altitude — sunscreen and a hat matter even on a mild-looking day, and it's easy to get dehydrated without noticing. Shoes. The Plaza and Cathedral are flat, easy walking; Canyon Road has uneven, sometimes gravelly sidewalks and a gentle uphill grade. Comfortable walking shoes cover both.
These activities are social and recreational. They carry no CME credit, sit entirely outside the certified education, and are not funded by commercial support. Each is scheduled strictly after the day’s final session, which keeps that separation clean.
